When Sarah chaperones Audrey and Amy's class trip to an Amish community, she stays with a local family and asks her hostess, Annie Fisher, about the beautiful quilt on her bed. Annie shares that she and her daughter, Katie, made the quilt together. But then Annie breaks down and tells her that Katie has been shunned and was forced to leave the community nearly a year ago. Annie hasn't heard from her since and she's desperate to find out if Katie is okay. Sarah understands Annie's desperate concern for her absent child and offers to find Katie but no one in the community will risk the bishop's displeasure by speaking to Sarah and she doesn't even know where to start. Will she be able to track down the missing girl? Does Katie want to be found? Using clues in Katie's quilting, Sarah searches for answers, spurred on by a mother's love.
